Applebees - WORST DINNER EXPERIENCE EVER

My family took our father out for his 83rd birthday on 9/12/09. We waited over an hour and ten minutes and never received our order even though the order itself was simple. There were five of us in our party. We received our beverages however, we were only offered refills once on our water and soda and other beverages. The staff were evasive and wouldn't meet our eyes after 30 minutes waiting. My boyfriend had to go find the manager after an as the staff apparently weren't able to do this nor would the staff answer questions on the state of our order. The manager never came out of the kitchen but did tell my boyfriend who managed to locate the manager in the kitchen after wed' waited an hour that our order would be filled and he'd check on it himself. Nothing happened after five minutes and we couldn't get our check when we decided to leave and go elsewhere. Our shoddy-service waitstaff never apologized or offered an explanation. Nor did the manager ever appear and offer an explanation or apology. We must say that the other diners were more concerned and friendly and offered to share their dinners with us, especially our 83 year old birthday boy who is diabetic and needs to eat at regular time - he became pale and this is one of the reasons we left - to get him food quickly. TERRIBLE SERVICE! Never got to taste their food but sure hope it's spectacular because their service is the worst I have ever experienced. AVOID! AVOID!! AVOID! GO ELSEWHERE IF YOU CAN! DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!!
